LoveBlog- Yoga Reaches Out Helps To Heal The World In Two Unexpected ways (And it's not what you think.)

Yoga Reaches Out mission. "To bring the yoga community together to create seva (selfless service) through the gift of yoga. Yoga Reaches Out focuses on raising funds for organizations that impact the health, education and well-being of children."
Besides the fact that Yoga Reaches Out will directly help so many children in need, it also heals the world in two different ways we may not normally think about. The first is how yoga in large groups changes people and the second is how yoga changes the self and those around those that practice yoga.
With regard to yoga in a large group, the more peace and love that is practiced within the world the better off we all are. Energetically speaking, yoga moves energy throughout the body. Stagnant air, energetic blockages all of this is transmuted into love. More often than not, effortlessly we can heal ourselves just by breathing and moving with intention. Yoga is about undoing all the baggage/excessive negativity/pain we hold onto. So when we come together in a large group to practice yoga, we are helping to heal our bodies as well as others around us; We become a collective couciousness. Especially, Yoga Reaches out because the collective couciousness intention is to help. In a way similar to the power of prayer. I've seen people in my home town of Nantucket come together in large groups and pray for an individual and that individual makes a rapid recovery. This rings true with yoga as well. Yoga creates a love bubble. The larger the group, the greater and more powerful the love bubble becomes. Miracles of all kinds can happen in large group yoga settings. It's quite incredible! As you practice, you inspire those around you. Of course we never want to compete with those around us. That's when injury occurs. What we want and what happens is we inadvertently send the love vibe from the core of our being to those around us and within the world. Helping to heal ourselves, those around us and sending out love in ways we don't even realize we are doing. Energy can neither be created nor distroyed. So this love bubble energy moves beyond the yoga mat and reaches beyond our own personal reach. Another portion of the love bubble is that we hold space with each other. We also help each other's practice. There have been times I didn't want to go to class but I knew there would be others and I also had a place to go to practice. A community of people that supported me. This became motivation. Always by the end of class I felt at my best. Most of the time, I have others in the room to thank for helping me get to my mat and stay there. If you've ever practiced yoga at home, you know how temping it is to leave once the going gets tough or you get bored. Yoga in large groups helps in more ways than one. Yoga Reaches out gives you the space and opportunity to connect with a community of people, help children, heal yourself but also heal the world. It's a beautiful gift.
The second way Yoga Reaches Out helps to heal the world is through Self love and self healing which lead those around that person to healing themselves, not just those practicing yoga. This is a type of ripple effect or pay it forward in a way. Let's says that Jane the yogini goes to Yoga Reaches Out. She leaves in the love bubble. She's hungry and decides to head over to the market to pick up a few items for dinner. From there she interacts with the people she sees at the grocery store where she picks up dinner. Runs into a man in the veggie section. She smiles and says hello. Next an older lady in the spice section. She smiles and sends hello. Then heads to the checkout, where a teenager is finishing up their Sunday shift. Yoga Jane interacts with each of these persons with love from the very bottom of her heart. Then before she goes home, she stops off at a family members house, she is smiling up a storm. "You look different". The family member mentions as they smile back at Jane. Then she heads home and invites a friend over for dinner. Let's says she interacts with a total of five people after leaving Yoga Reaches Out. Most likely those five people she interacted with will feel good by being in her presence. We can even go as far to say that Jane brighten their day by just smiling from the heart. Then those people go on to interact with five people and so on and so forth. The yoga ripple effect. It could even be started you don't personally need to practice yoga, just spend your time with someone that does. Their happiness and love will rub off on you. When we take care of ourselves, we inspire others to do the same. And when we also take care of ourselves we bring love and joy to those around us, they in turn and bring love and joy to others. As if Jane is the candle and she lights everyone around her and then those people light others around them. The more Yoga Reaches Out events happen within the world on a regular basis we may even see world peace just because of the yoga ripple effect.
